Prayer hub

We are trying to become a prayer hub for different prayer ministries and initiatives in the city of Stoke on Trent, connecting and informing each other, and linking in with the global prayer movement through various ministries.

Over the autumn we have started workimng on connecting the prophetic intercessors in the city to hear what God is doing and saying into the city. We need to build a coherent and strategic picture if we are to see kingdom released in greater reality. If you are an intercessor and are not yet connected with us at the Beacon please email us on thebeaconinfo@btconnect.com with your details or phone

01782 827238.

Andrea Cranshaw is starting to connect the city intercessors together to meet early in the new year. Please get in touch if you would like to know more

We are also developing connections within the Methodist district of Chester & Stoke for encouraging prayer and mission.

Below are details of the new 'Re-energise' initiative.

Re-energise through prayer for mission.

re-enegiseWe would like to introduce you to an exciting and strategic opportunity to engage our churches in prayer and mission.

There have been significant opportunities for prayer in the district in recent years including the district prayer day in 2004 and the ‘Pray without Ceasing’ in 2006. This year has also been a nationwide time for local mission as the ‘2008 year of hope’, which many churches within our district have participated in.

This is a new season in which God’s Spirit is breathing afresh upon the church.
Re-energise, which has the support of the District Policy Group and Peter Barber, our new district chair, will be launched at Synod this Saturday.

Re-energise falls into three distinct but related parts.

  • It will end with a week of 24/7 prayer during the 15th - 22nd March 2009 which will be followed by a local act of mission. We hope that each circuit will book a 24 hour slot during that week through the District Office. It will be up to each circuit to decide on its local act of mission and the most appropriate way to use those 24 hours of prayer

  • To enable circuits to fully utilise this period of prayer and mission there will be a day of resourcing and inspiration at the Wesley Centre, Sandbach on Saturday 7th February, 1 – 6pm.

  • We would love to gather some enthusiasm for what we believe is an exciting opportunity, so we have arranged an evening of worship at Beacon house of prayer, Stoke on Trent on Friday 21st November from 7.30pm. We would like two or three people from each circuit to come along and act as facilitator, enthuser & link between re-energise and your circuit.

Thank you for your support. There will be more information and publicity over the coming months.
