Why a house of prayer?

THE BEACON IS OPEN EVERY DAY MONDAY - SUNDAY 24 HOURS A DAY SINCE JAN 2012 At Beacon HOP we are engaging in corporate worship and prayer with a revival vision. We are asking God to release a greater measure of the Holy Spirit in our city and nation. We are also aware of the urgency of the hour and the soon return of the Lord Jesus. We are therefore standing with the church throughout the world as we cry ‘come, Lord Jesus’. |
And so the Beacon has a global vision as part of the worldwide prayer movement, but also a local focus as we take responsibility for the spiritual life of our city and region. Our ‘big picture praying’ therefore has four elements around Presence, Purpose, Love and Life.
We are specifically praying:
- pour out Your Spirit. We need more of God’s presence and the revival life that a spiritual outpouring brings.
- bring transformation and justice. We are asking God to bring about His purposes of transformation in the midst of crisis and for demonstrations of kingdom justice even in the midst of troubled times.
- renew Your church. We are praying that God will bring the church into a greater revelation of Jesus’ beauty and majesty and will become a mature bride partnering with Jesus in these end times.
- change many lives. We are believing that God is going to draw many thousands of people to faith in Jesus, and that spiritual breakthrough of salvation and healing is what God wants to do in our generation.
